Is there really that much
difference in starches and finishes?
YES!
 | Emulsification in various starches and finishes can
cause bleeding |
 | PVA type starches wash out rapidly and can cause
problems in storage |
 | Other types can react with various yarn lubricants
which results in spotting |
 | Most starches and finishes usually cause darkening of
the original color |
My printing cannot survive various processes
 | Durability is one part of the problem |
 | Almost all types of print finishes cannot hold up to
processes like stone washing |
 | Fading can incur quite rapidly |
 | The finish has to have the ability to crosslink with the ink |
My labels are bleeding after being sewn into the
garment
 | Yarn lubricants can seep through various starches
because of the particle size of the finish. |
 | Depending on the chemical makeup of the starch or
finish it can react with the yarn lubricant |
 | Upon storage, especially when the label is in contact
with the garment in a plastic bag, the sizing on the yarn can transfer
onto the garment. |
 | Loose dye particles can also cause migration if not
completely entrapped by the finish. |
Commercial Products USA has worked over 30 years
to solve these and other problems in the label manufacturing industry. |
